BOB Hydrographics, LLC (BOB) is a small business, founded in August 2016, specializing in geophysical surveys for submerged and terrestrial archaeology, and hydrographic surveys for a variety of applications, including pipeline routing studies, habitat restoration, shoreline stabilization projects, hard-bottom mapping of marine biological habitats, search-and-salvage, and post-hurricane debris surveys. The business was founded by Robert Gearhart who has over 36 years of experience conducting underwater archaeological surveys and assessments and is qualified to serve as Principal Investigator on submerged archaeology projects of any size. Mr. Gearhart has been the primary or sole author of 59 underwater cultural resource reports and has co-authored 60 other permitted archaeological project reports. The firm’s current operations are now led by owner Mr. Hunter Whitehead, who is building upon the deep experience and strong foundation laid by the company’s owner. Mr. Whitehead has over 10 years of experience conducting underwater archaeological surveys, has been the sole author of 44 underwater cultural resource reports, and has co-authored 22 other permitted archaeological project reports.
